Been a While

by Administrator on Sep.02, 2010, under Uncategorized

It’s a been a while since I posted anything out to this thing but I’ve been thinking about this blog a bit lately. It was back in December of 2005 that I wrote my first article for Ovalkart Magazine. After writing many articles for them over a few years the magazine went under and in fairly short order I started writing for Chasin Racin. However, for the last several months (maybe 6 or so??) I haven’t written much of anything for anybody. It’s kind of bitter sweet. On the one hand I do enjoy writing and I also enjoy the hope that something I’ve written might help someone. On the other hand it does get difficult at times to come up with new topics month after month, especially articles which fit into the amount of space that I’m allocated. For Ovalkart that typically hovered around 2500 words and for Chasin Racin it was around 1000 to 1500. Both constituted a fair bit of writing.

Anyway, now, other than the occasional speed tip for the PRC Connections newsletter this blog is about all I have to write to (no deadlines, no word counts: yeh!). So…keep an eye on this place for a bit of new content. Who knows, if it goes well I might even learn to tweat on twitter.
God Bless
Todd

The Gospels

by Administrator on Feb.18, 2009, under Uncategorized

I’ve read the Bible several times through but about six months ago I bought the Bible on CD. After many hours of ripping I ended up with everything on my mp3 player all ready to listen while I drive which has worked out well considering that I live hour from work. I’ve never had the time to read all four Gospels in four or five days but over the last week I’ve been able to listen to all four of them in about that span of time. What I found most interesting this time through is the different styles which the different authors employed in their books. Each brought out the same, wonderful story but from a slightly different perspective. Additionally, though each covered many of the same events, there are some events that are only covered in one of books. It is amazing how each time I read or listen to the Bible I learn more and more. God is absolutely, astoundingly awesome!

The Simple Things

by Administrator on Feb.08, 2009, under Everything

I was talking with a friend the other day about his plan for 2009. I’ve been working with him for some four years so I keep up with his progress and success pretty closely. As we talked I remembered back to the point when he “got it.” I don’t mean any secrets or anything like; it was the point that he realized that there is no secret. Nowadays he thinks about what he plans to do with the few tires to which he has access, he things about when he’ll replace his front end components to keep his kart performing at its maximum potential, he’s planning to succeed. We don’t talk much anymore about setup, he just runs the same numbers all the time. We don’t talk much about prep, he has his four or so preps and he knows how to use them.

There isn’t any secret to speed; just keep things meticulously prepared, make a plan that you can execute and learn from and stick to your plan.

Welcome!

by Administrator on Jan.19, 2009, under Everything

Welcome to the new blog. I’ve thought several times about karting, faith and a good many other things and felt I had something to say that might help others or to stimulate them into thought of their own. Well, here it is: a blog for me to do just that. There is no telling just what might show up here but here it is just the same.

Enjoy!
